The Mangalia Municipality, in cooperation with The Romanian Federation of Professional Dance and Total Dance Club Pitesti held the Callatis Professional Dance Championship. The event, in its first year, took place in the gymnasium of the Callatis High School, Mangalia. Almost 1000 people cheered the 200 pairs of dancers lined up for the start of the competition. The jury was made up of prestigious members of all participating dance schools who carefully analysed the performance. The organizers wish that this competition be held annually on several age and experience groups which would attract famous dancers from all over the country.
